At the movies

Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff in Iron Man 2At the beginning of this year I made some New Year resolutions. These weren’t your typical resolutions of consume less alcohol, get out of debt or lose some weight (although the latter one may be a consideration for next year!), but resolutions based on watching new films, reading more books and getting back into drawing. Although the latter two have, by my own ashamed admission, been a disaster – I have been able to keep up to watching a new film a week. I should be clear that by ‘new‘ I mean a film that I haven’t seen before, not necessarily a film released in 2010.

…I’ve watched 42 films which means I’m on track to hit 52 before the end of the year.

I counted the other day that I’ve watched 42 films which means I’m on track to hit 52 before the end of the year. With my recent post reviewing ‘Up in the Air‘ I thought I should list the other films that I’ve watched and rated so far this year:

As you can see from the table above I have rated each film with a score out of 5. At the beginning of the year I developed a specific rating system that would allow me to score the films against a set criteria. I will be creating another post in the New Year that explains the rating system I use in detail once I’ve assessed its effectiveness at the end of the year.

I’ve decided that I won’t have sufficient time to post individual movie reviews on the blog. So I’ve decided that, from this point on, I will only review films that score 3 or more and the occasional turkey that you should avoid at all costs.
