Last Sunday Joanne and I went to see the re-release of Metropolis at the Hyde Park Picture House in Leeds. Originally released in 1927, this re-release is the result of a duplicate print being discovered in Buenos Aires a couple of years ago. Now restored and with an extra 25 minutes of footage, the film is having a limited run in cinemas for today’s movie-going public to enjoy.

I’ve been working on the design of this blog for a few months now and have finally created something that I’m happy with. Over the next few weeks I’m hoping to implement the design into the existing WordPress theme that I’m currently running.

At the beginning of this year I made some New Year resolutions. These weren’t your typical resolutions of consume less alcohol, get out of debt or lose some weight (although the latter one may be a consideration for next year!), but resolutions based on watching new films, reading more books and getting back into drawing. Although the latter two have, by my own ashamed admission, been a disaster – I have been able to keep up to watching a new film a week. I should be clear that by ‘new‘ I mean a film that I haven’t seen before, not necessarily a film released in 2010.

Last weekend I attended the BriSCA F1 World Final 2010 in Coventry. Although the traffic outside the stadium was mental, the parking chaotic and it taking a while to find a good spot to see the action – it was totally worth it and I had a great time.
